Cramps During Pregnancy

During pregnancy cramps sometimes occur around the abdominal area. This is normal and generally harmless, but that does not mean be allowed to cause prolonged pain. If high intensity cramps, immediately consult a doctor.

Why the Cramps?
Medically, abdominal cramps are contractions in pregnancy; the physiological reaction of the uterus periodically because the uterus contains a fetus is alive. Contraction being felt since the second trimester of pregnancy and usually happens only occasionally. Reasonable contraction takes place in a matter of 1-3 minutes. So if the cramps cause pain constantly, to watch out because it can cause miscarriage or premature birth.

Causes of Cramps
Cramps are caused by a disruption of oxygen to the uterus so that there is a shortage of oxygen. Oxygen did not cause inhibition of smooth blood flow, thus causing pain.
Well, the fetus in the belly of the placenta is covered, so when the uterus to contract, blood flow was obstructed in the fetus. If the intensity and frequency of contraction is high enough up the oxygen in the placenta could be diminished or even exhausted. This condition could endanger your child.
Contraction is considered normal when it enters the age of 37-40 weeks, the weeks approaching the birth. When abdominal cramps often occur at age less than 20 weeks gestation, it is feared could lead to miscarriage. Every pregnancy is a risk for it; especially wannabe-moms are advantages and disadvantages of weight.

These simple steps to reduce cramps:

Stop for Women, Plenty of Rest. When all of a sudden stomach cramps, stop all activities that are underway and immediately break. Because the oxygen interference is often caused by the activity of want to-be-moms excessive.
Consider the nutritional intake. Another cause is the nutrition of pregnant women are not good, so the mother's lack of energy to deliver blood and oxygen to the uterus.
Calm the mind and relaxation. State of one's soul during pregnancy greatly affects the whole process of pregnancy. Stress can lead to impaired oxygen intake. Therefore, avoid stress and soothe the mind.

If cramps persist, consult a physician, for further examination.

Increased levels of progesterone and estrogen during pregnancy makes bowel movements become slower so that food and gas produced to be longer in the stomach and intestinal transit so that it can lead to bloating and a feeling of fullness in stomach. Next, the existence of a growing baby lead to pressure on the digestive system that bowel movement is also reduced. Besides the pressure on the stomach can cause stomach acid to be produced in the stomach longer, resulting in increased pain in the stomach and can also cause "heart burn" or burning / pain around the stomach, chest up to the throat. When this happens the mother can drink ulcer drug.

2. Pain in the lower abdomen can be caused because: first, a growing pregnancy makes ligament of the uterus to the abdominal wall hanger to be stretched and attracted so painful. Because of its location on the right and left of the uterus so the pain can be felt on either sides or one and move around. Second, the pain can be caused by pressure on the bladder because of the growing uterus. The bladder is located in the lower abdomen. Pressure on the bladder can make the urine was also longer in there which causes the onset of urinary tract infection. Complaints that arise can be a sense of urinate into a little, and often pain, lower abdominal pain to the back, and even can cause contractions. Third, the pain can be felt when the fetus moves. With the larger the fetus the head movement, body and leg kicks will become stronger. Fetal movement can cause the contractions arise, but the contractions are not dangerous that can cause labor. This kind of contractions usually known called Braxton-Hicks contractions or false contractions.

3.For the stomach seem small at the age of 5 months of pregnancy can be due to high maternal body that has not been clearly visible belly, the greater the age of the content will be more clearly seen later. Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction During Pregnancy

What symphysis pubic dysfunction is:

Symphysis pubic dysfunction, or SPD, is one of those weird pregnancy conditions that sounds bizarre and well, kind of is. It means the ligaments that normally keep your pelvic bone aligned during pregnancy become too relaxed and stretchy. This, in turn, can make the pelvic joint in other words the symphysis pubis is unstable, causing some pretty strange sensations and in most cases causes pain.

Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction During Pregnancy

The two halves of your pelvis are connected at the front by a stiff joint called the symphysis pubis. This joint is strengthened by a dense network of tough, flexible tissues, called ligaments. To help your baby pass through your pelvis as easily as possible, your body produces a hormone called relaxing, which softens the ligaments.

As a result, these joints move more during and just after pregnancy, causing inflammation and pain, known as symphysis pubis dysfunction or SPD.

What are the Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction symptoms?

Pain in the pubic area and groin are the most common symptoms. But you may also have the following signs:
- Back pain, pelvic girdle pain or hip pain.
- A grinding or clicking sensation in your pubic area.
- Pain down the inside of your thighs or between your legs. It can be made worse by parting your legs, walking, going up or down stairs or moving around in bed.
